The Founders
Robby Djohan

Leading Indonesian businessman
Robby Djohan began his career at Citibank in 1968, moving to Bank Niaga in 1976 where he rose to become its President in 1982. Djohan was instrumental in developing Bank Niaga from the smallest to the second largest private bank in Indonesia. During the Asian financial crisis the Indonesian government turned to Djohan to restore the image and profitability of its national carrier Garuda Indonesia, which he accomplished in just eight months. A year later the IMF and Indonesia’s President tasked Djohan with overseeing the complex restructuring and merger of the country’s state banks into Bank Mandiri. Today, it is the largest and most profitable bank in Indonesia. Djohan’s unique perspectives on global finance have been immortalised in his best-selling management books: The Art of Turn Around, Leading in Crisis, and Lead to Togetherness. Equally visionary within the world of hospitality, Djohan launched The Legian Seminyak in 1996, establishing LHM at the cutting edge of boutique, service-led luxury hospitality. Djohan passed away in Jakarta in May 2016.

Extending her management skills into the entrepreneurial realm, in 2009 she became the founder and CFO of Bali Widya Dirgantara, and established the Bali International Flight Academy in Indonesia, where she also served as its CFO. Irma is now the Managing Director of LHM, overseeing projects and brand expansion regionally.
